Rose Lee Patchen, age 77, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri passed away in her home on Friday, March 19, 2010 with her family at her side. She was born on September 3, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of William and Helen L. (McCoy) Hamner. She was a 1950 graduate of Excelsior Springs High School in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. She graduated from Aladdin Beauty School in Kansas City, Missouri. On August 5, 1950 she married Bennie Franklin Patchen Jr. at the United Methodist Church parsonage in Platte City, Missouri. He survives of the home. She moved to Chillicothe, Missouri in 1958 from Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Rose was the owner and a cosmetologist at Rose Lee's Beauty Shop in Chillicothe, Missouri from 1960 until 1980. She then become a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe, Missouri and the Chillicothe Campers Association. In Excelsior Springs, Rose Lee was member of Beta Sigma Phi, and a former member of Rebekah Lodge. She was a member of the Shuffleboard Team for Paradise Park in Pharr, Texas, as well as a member of two Red Hatters clubs in Pharr, Texas. She loved traveling, camping, fishing, gardening and watching birds. She was a true outdoor enthusiast. Survivors also include one son, Ben Patchen of Kansas City, Missouri; one daughter, Virginia "Jenny" Jo Churchill and husband David of Chillicothe, Missouri; three grandchildren, Neelie Churchill, Donny Churchill, Duke Churchill all of Chillicothe, Missouri; one great-grandchild, Margaret Jane Ann Churchill of Chillicothe, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Charley; one daughter, Helen Margaret Patchen; one sister, JoAnn Holm. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe, Missouri at 11:00 a.m. There will be a family visitation on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery in Excelsior Springs, Missouri at a later date.
