Roscoe L Phillips

Roscoe L. "Dick" Phillips Roscoe Phillips, age 90, a resident of Lincoln, Missouri, former resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Lincoln Community Care Center, Lincoln, Missouri. Roscoe was born the son of Grover and Martha (Gibbs) Phillips on April 15, 1923 in Bell City, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Mildred Johnson on August 11, 1947 in Carrollton, Missouri. She preceded him in death on March 8, 2002. Roscoe retired from the United States Navy after twenty two years of service. During that time he served during the Korea War and World War II. He worked as a Stationary Engineer for General Motors in Kansas City, Kansas for twenty-two years. Roscoe was a member of the Chillicothe First Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering, and building things. Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Rowland and husband Robert of Warsaw, Missouri, and Vivian Jean Phillips of Orlando, Florida; two sons, Stephen Phillips of Chillicothe, Missouri and Guy Phillips of Independence, Missouri; four grandchildren, Royce, Raydee, Rhyder, and Trinity; and one great-granddaughter, Lily. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mildred Phillips; infant daughter, Linda Phillips; and two half-brothers, Grover Phillips and Steve Hadorn. Graveside services will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home on Friday, May 24, 2013, from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Haven and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
