Ronald "Ron" G. Willis
Ronald "Ron" G. Willis, age 81, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at Livingston Manor Care Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Ron was born the son of Dean and Helen (Richards) Willis on June 25, 1938, in Shoshone, Idaho. He was a 1956 graduate of Laredo High School. After high school, Ron attended Trenton Junior College, where he played basketball. He served in the United States Army from 1961 until 1963. Ron was united in marriage to Mary Culbertson on June 26, 1966, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Shelbyville, Missouri. She survives of the home. Ron worked for MFA Oil Company of Columbia, Missouri, for 45 years, and retired as district sales manager. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Ron was a charter member of the Grand River DU Chapter, where he was a lifetime sponsor and committee member for 46 years. He was also a member of the NRA. Ron loved hunting and collecting hunting articles, with his favorite places to hunt being Cotton Wood Gun Club, and Gills Camp. He was an avid trap shooter, as well as skeet and sporting clays. He enjoyed playing tennis. Ron loved raising Black Labrador Dogs, and had four of his own, Champ, Chief, Bear, and Buck. He was instrumental in starting the Antique Collectible Show at the Jenkins Expo Center. Ron loved going to the family farm in Shelbyville, where he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Willis of the home; two sisters-in-law, Judy Haydon and husband Jerry of Shelbyville, Missouri, and Janice Culbertson Skingel and husband Ted of Joshua, Texas; one niece, Tanya Jenkins and husband Donovan of Cleburne, Texas; two nephews, Todd Culbertson and wife Emily of Troy, Missouri, and Troy Culbertson and wife Angela of Monroe City, Missouri; great nieces and nephews, Gabe, Jay, Tate, Dane, Jess, and Micah Culbertson, and Hannah Guerrero and husband Alex; and four cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; younger brother, Jerry; and brother-in-law, Jerry Culbertson.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, October 4, 2019, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Mt.
