Ronald “Ronnie” Dean Reid
Ronald “Ronnie” Dean Reid, age 82, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.
Ronnie was born the son of William “Bill” Tolliver and Mary Helen (Hinnen) Reid on June 24, 1942, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was baptized at Chula Baptist Church, Chula, Missouri. He was a 1963 graduate of Chillicothe High School. Ronnie was united in marriage to Dorothy Wright on June 1, 1979, in Harlan, Iowa. He worked as a machinist in Harlan, Iowa, for many years. Ronnie enjoyed drinking coffee at McDonald’s with his friends, fishing, deer hunting, playing cards, and watching NASCAR and dirt track racing. He was an avid football fan, especially the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs.
Survivors include one son, Michael Wright and wife, Lea, of Manilla, Iowa; three daughters, Stephanie Rainey of Dickson, Tennessee, Grace Cott and husband, Frank, of Topeka, Kansas, and Shiela Herzberg and husband, Joe, of Defiance, Iowa; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Ronnie is also survived by his identical twin brother, Donald “Donnie” Reid, who was known as Popsie and Ronnie was known as Poopsie, of Chillicothe, Missouri; three sisters, Brenda Samm and husband, Cecil Samm, Jr., of Chillicothe, Missouri, Anna Bowe of Kirksville, Missouri, and Della Ishmael of Chillicothe, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy Reid; one sister-in-law, Wanda Reid; and one brother-in-law, Donald Bowe.
Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 2:30 pm. A scheduled visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, October 12, 2024, one hour prior to the service at 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Burial will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Chula Community Center and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
