Ronald M. Johnson, age 66, a resident of Dawn, Missouri passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Ronald was born on July 25, 1945, the son of Eugene Lyle and Vivian (Jones) Johnson in North Kansas City, Missouri. He was a 1963 Southwest High School graduate. On July 24, 1965 he was united in marriage to Pamela J. Copple in Ludlow, Missouri. She survives of the home. He worked for Donaldson's from 1964 - 1973. Since then he was a self-employed farmer in Dawn, Missouri. He was also a member of the Dawn Baptist Church and Shoal Creek Association. He loved hand fishing, dancing, playing cards, throwing washers, and hunting with his long time faithful companion bird dog, Babe. Ronald is also survived by one son, Ryan Johnson of Las Vegas, Nevada; one daughter, Ronelle Nickles and husband Phil of Independence, Missouri; one brother, Darell Johnson and wife Shirley of Polo, Missouri; two sisters, Shirley Minnis of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Geneva Welker of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Dave and Anne Palmer of Waterville, Maine, and Laverne and Sandy Copple of Chillicothe, Missouri; two grandchildren, Marissa and Makenzie Nickles of Independence, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Roger Johnson; sister-in-law, Pat Johnson; two brothers-in-law, James Minnis and H.E. Welker. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. There will be a family visitation on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call on Tuesday from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Interment will be held in Collar Cemetery in Dawn, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Collar Cemetery of Dawn, Missouri and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
