Ronald Glen Duckworth, age 71, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at KU Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas. Ronald was born the son of Albert Byron and Lillian Mae (Kirby) Duckworth on May 10, 1940, in Trenton, Missouri. He was a 1959 graduate of Humphreys High School. He was united in marriage to Ruth Marie Safly on November 21, 1964 in Braymer, Missouri. She preceded him in death on July 9, 1982. Ron lived his whole adult life in the Livingston County area, and worked as a Diesel Mechanic for Cooke Sales and Service for 40 years and for Churchill Truck Lines for over 11 years. He was a member of the Locust Valley Baptist Church, the UC Travelers of Chillicothe, former member of the Woodmen of the World Chillicothe chapter, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Union Local 534. Survivors include one son and one daughter; Michael Duckworth and wife Melody of Kearney Missouri and Cheryl Lynn (Duckworth) Blankenbush and husband Derek of River Vale, New Jersey; one brother Nelson Duckworth of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his first wife Judy Karen (Carver) Willis of Galt, Missouri; five grandchildren, Dustin Owen, Brittney Duckworth, Jordan Duckworth, Derek Blankenbush, and Jessica Blankenbush; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother James E. Duckworth of Chillicothe on November 6, 2008; a third wife Jerrie Lou Boyd on September 13, 1999; and one son Mitchell Duckworth on Nov. 7, 2009. Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, April 20, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. A family visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, April 19, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call on the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, April 19, 2012, from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
