Roger Mattox

Roger Mattox Roger Mattox, age 65, a lifelong resident of Tina, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. Roger was born the son of Loren Dale and Patsy Ann (Simpson) on August 25, 1950, in Carrollton, Missouri. He was a 1968 graduate of Tina Avalon High School. He was united in marriage to Barbara Harmon on June 2, 1973, in Tunas, Missouri. She survives of the home. Roger worked for Joe Brockmeier for 25 years. He also served as a volunteer Firefighter and First Responder for the North Central Carroll Fire Protection Department for many years. Roger was a member of the Coloma Baptist Church, Bogard, Missouri. He was also a member of the Missouri State Fair Fire Department, the Fire Fighters Association of Missouri, and was a former Tina Avalon School District board member. Roger loved trapping, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Texas Hold'Em. Survivors include his wife, Barbara of the home; five children, Alecia Spainhour and husband Jason of Kansas City, Missouri, Darin Mattox of Tina, Missouri, Janet Buck of Springfield, Missouri, Timothy Mattox of Tina, Missouri, and Toni Mattox of Kansas City, Missouri; seven grandchildren; and one uncle Douglas Simpson and wife Charlene of Kansas City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Scott Mattox. Graveside services will be held at the Coloma Cemetery, Bogard, Missouri, on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. Following the graveside service, there will be a Celebration of Life at the Tina Community Center, Tina, Missouri, on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Tina, Missouri, on Friday, May 13, 2016, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute and/or the Missouri State Fair Fire Department and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
