Roberta Summers

E. Roberta Summers E. Roberta (Berta) Summers, age 66, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2012 at her residence. Roberta was born the daughter of Glenn and Elsie (McCracken) Acree on December 20, 1945 in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Ralph Summers on April 22, 1966 in Chillicothe, Missouri. He survives of the home. Roberta was the second of nine children. She graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1963. She resided in Chillicothe all her life. Roberta worked at the various glove factories then she worked at Amoco food shop for Tom and Kathy Pfaff until her illness in 1995. She loved working there and taking care of the customers. Roberta was a very special loving and caring person who always put everyone's needs and welfare before her own. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved crocheting, talking on the phone, watching Dancing with the Stars, Shark Tank, Nascar, Survivor, and the Food Channel. A very special thanks to all the family and friends who has supported her. The Hospice personnel took great care of her which is greatly appreciated. Roberta was a very special lady. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Summers, of Chillicothe, Missouri; her mother, Elsie Acree, of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter Robyn Robitzsch, and husband Shawn, of Indianola, Iowa; two sons, Randy Summers, of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Dan Summers, and fiancé Katie Mason, of Ann Arbor, Michigan; two granddaughters, Cassity and Sydney Summers. She is also survived by two sisters, Beth Sickeler, and husband Gene, of Chillicothe, Missouri; Diane Nibarger, and husband Jerry, of Chillicothe, Missouri; five brothers; Ora Paul, and wife Kathy, of Gallatin, Missouri; Cliff Acree, and wife Debbie, of Chillicothe, Missouri; Larry Acree of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; Gary Acree and wife Vickie of Centralia, Missouri; Jim Acree, and wife Sheila, of Chillicothe, Missouri. Roberta also had numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, one brother, Bruce Acree and grandparents. Services will be held on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. There will be a family visitation on Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, on Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
