Robert Louis Steward
Robert Louis Steward was the son of Leon and Doris Hagan Steward. He was born May 28, 1931 in Chillicothe, Missouri.
He attended Garrison School and furthered his education through GED classes.
Robert accepted Jesus as his Savior at the age of 12 years old at the Mount Zion Baptist Church of Chillicothe, Missouri. He served faithfully as a musician at the church until his death. He was also a gifted artist and used those skills to illustrate pictures for the Sunday School.
Robert began his working career at the Banks Dry Cleaners. He set pins at Earl Kimber's Bowling Alley until the automation of the pin system. He retired from Susan's Nursing Home after working there for 40 years.
He has given precious memories to those who will forever cherish his memory. They are sister, Linda Steward; nieces, Leondra Dodd, Melody (Larry) Rodgers, and Twyla (Ron) Lindsay; great nieces and great nephews, Jesalynn Lindsay, Marilee Rodgers, , Ronnie Lindsay, and Micaiah Rodgers, plus a host of cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary and Jackson Scholls; his parents, brothers, Leon and Richard Steward, and Myra Steward.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, March 22, 2021, from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at South Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
