Robert Scott Stephens Robert Scott Stephens, age 61, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at his residence. Scott was born the son of Fredrick Max and Joan Helen (Peterson) Stephens on November 11, 1954, in Springfield, Missouri. He was a 1973 graduate of Chillicothe High School. He then attended the University of Missouri graduating in 1977. He became a CPA in 1978. From 1978 until 1981, Scott worked for Deloitte, Haskins and Sells in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1982, Scott started his own accounting business. Scott was united in marriage to Mary Jane Everett on June 18, 1982, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. Scott was also a member of Boy Scouts of America and earned his Eagle Scout. He served as past president of the Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce, Treasurer for Chillicothe Kiwanis Club, Chillicothe High School Booster Club President, Mizzou Tigers Athletics Scholarship Association District Chairman, AICPA, Missouri Society of CPA's, Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, the Virginia Wall Scholarship Committee, Pendleton Loan Committee, was a member of the Chillicothe C Club, served as SPA Coach, C Club board member, served on the Chillicothe Park Board, and was the CMU board President. Scott received the Chillicothe Business Man of the Year Award from the Chamber of Commerce. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane of the home; two daughters, Megan Jane Stephens Keller and husband Nathan of St. Louis, Missouri, and Ali Elizabeth Stephens of Chillicothe, Missouri; one granddaughter, Jane Stephens Keller of St. Louis, Missouri; one sister, Pamela Stephens Constant and husband Randy of Chillicothe, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Thomas Fredrick Stephens. A Memorial Service will be held at the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, April 3, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, April 2, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, April 2, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held at Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church and/or the Festival of Lights and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
