Robert Lee McBee
Robert Lee McBee, age 93, a resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2019, at Golden Age Nursing Home, Braymer, Missouri.
Robert was born the son of Lee and Nellie (McKnight) McBee on September 16, 1925, in Braymer, Missouri. He served in the United States Army from 1946 until 1947, during World War II. Robert was united in marriage to Betty Mills on March 4, 1951, in Lamar, Colorado. She preceded him in death on January 25, 2003. He worked as a farmer most of his life. Robert was a member of the Braymer Methodist Church, Braymer, Missouri. He was also a member of the Braymer Tweedie-Murray American Legion Post 117.
Survivors include two sons, Steve McBee and wife Joy of Braymer, Missouri, and Ray McBee and wife Roxanne of Braymer, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jason (Sandy) McBee, Jodie (Michael) Carpenter, Sarah (Jonathan) Barnes, and Shannon (Zachary) Heeren; three great grandchildren, Robert Doyle McBee, Audrey Lee McBee, and Finn Lucas Barnes; one brother, Donald Dean McBee of Braymer, Missouri; one sister, Mary Lou Kelly of Fort Collins, Colorado; and one sister-in-law, Frances Flint of Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; two brothers, Doyle and Lloyd McBee; and one sister, Dorothy Mallory.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Thursday, July 18, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Braymer FFA and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
