Robert Lee Hughson, Sr.
Robert Lee Hughson, Sr., age 90, a lifelong resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021, at North Kansas City, Hospital, North Kansas City, Missouri.
Robert was born the son of Dayton and Reta (Kelly) Hughson on December 13, 1930, in Braymer, Missouri. He was a 1949 graduate of Braymer High School. Robert was united in marriage to Wilma Lou Cox on October 29, 1948 in Braymer, Missouri. They were married for 72 years. She survives of the home. Robert was a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of the McBee Chapel Church in rural Braymer, Missouri, until its closing. He served on the board of the Braymer Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, and on the board of Consumers Co-Op. He also volunteered his time with the Braymer FFA Chapter and with the Pleasant Hill Hustlers 4-H Club.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Lou of the home; three sons, Robert "Bob" Hughson, Jr. and wife Mary of Braymer, Missouri, Kenneth Hughson and wife Debra of Sweet Springs, Missouri, and Johnny Hughson and wife Jodie of Orrick, Missouri; one daughter, Carol Anderson and husband Jeff of Braymer, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Julie and Mike Howard, Shawn and Nickie Hughson, Scotty Hughson, Amber Tiffin, Kyle Hughson, Shelby and Scott Teufel, Tara and Justin Palmer, Todd and Brittany Hughson, Jeremy and Jaclyn Anderson, Tracy and Travis Darr; twenty great grandchildren; one brother, Gerald Hughson and wife Barbara of Cameron, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Carolyn Sue Hughson; brother, Dean Hughson; and sister-in-law, Doris Hughson; and his friends, Bob Phillips and Dorris Leakey.
Graveside services will be held at Phares Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri, on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Monday, May 10, 2021, from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Braymer Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
