Robert Marcus Guffey July 25, 1926 - April 30, 2014 Robert Marcus Guffey, age 87, formerly of Breckenridge, entered into eternity at the Missouri Veterans' Home, Cameron on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. He was born July 25, 1926, to William S. and Gwendolyn (Priest) Guffey in Kansas City, Kansas. After attending Wyandotte High School, Bob served in the US Navy from April 1944 to July 1947. On June 5, 1949, he married Alice "Madelon" Guffey in Breckenridge, Missouri, and in the next few years the family grew as daughters Sherylyn and Cindy were born. His passions were farming, hunting, fishing, and enjoying the great outdoors, always trying to be a good steward of the land. Even as a young man he dreamed of providing a place for people to hunt, and this was fulfilled when he partnered with his brother Alan to establish Hi Point Hunting Club. Bob's hobby of building black powder guns complemented the hunting experience. In addition to farming, he was a substitute rural mail carrier for several years. He was a member of Grandview Church and the American Legion. During his time at the Missouri Veterans Home, a hidden artistic ability was discovered. Bob was honored to have two of his watercolor paintings chosen to sell at the Alzheimer's Association Memories in the Making art auction. He also enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife Madelon, siblings Marie Welborn, Alan Guffey, and Janet Greenwood, and grandson Tim McBee. Survivors include daughters Sherylyn (Mark) Price and Cindy (Mark) McBee; brother William S. Guffey Jr.; sister-in-law Jean Guffey; grandchildren Deron (Paula) Davis, Jennifer Davis, Joel (Emily) McBee, Becky (Dan) Dixon; great-grandchildren Taylor and Madison Davis, Paul Keith, Malachi, Gideon, and Titus McBee, and Ethan, Christian, and Ava Dixon; numerous nieces and nephews, and his extended family at the Missouri Veterans Home.
