Robert Joel Anschutz Robert Joel Anschutz, age 84, a Chillicothe, Missouri, resident, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Robert was born the son of Raymond and Mary (Day) Anschutz on June 5, 1933, in Wilson, Kansas. He was a 1951 graduate of Lucas High School, Lucas, Kansas. He attended Kansas State in Manhattan, Kansas, after graduation where he studied Business Administration. He was in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. On November 12, 1954, he married Paula Broska in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She survives of the home. They moved to Wichita, Kansas, where Robert worked for Boeing. In 1959, Robert moved his family to Bogard, Missouri, where they resided until 2012 when Chillicothe became their home. Robert worked at Mid America Dairy for over thirty years. He was a 4-H leader while his children were growing up. He was a board member at the Braden Cemetery for many years. Survivors include wife, Paula, Chillicothe, Missouri, daughters Melanie Rosin (Marty), Dover, Missouri, and Mona Smith, Hutto, Texas; son, Merl Anschutz, Corder, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jeremiah Gandhi, Warrensburg, Missouri, Penny Butler, Blue Springs, Missouri, and Spencer Smith(Brianne), Hutto, Texas; seven great -grandchildren, Tika Castilleja, Kansas City, Missouri, Will Gandhi, Kansas City, Missouri, Trenton Gandhi, Kansas City, Missouri, Brooklyn Hedrick, Blue Springs, Missouri, Brayden Hedrick, Blue Springs, Missouri, Gavin Wardrip, Grain Valley, Missouri, Lilly Smith, Hutto, Texas, and Canyon Smith, Hutto, Texas; and two great -great grandchildren, Missouri, Aliyah Gandhi, Kansas City, Missouri and Dorian Castilleja, Kansas City, Missouri; and one brother, Darrell Anschutz , Hutchinson, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mary (Day) Anschutz; son, Michael Anschutz, one grandson, Scott Smith; one brother, Glen "Reid" Anschutz, and one sister, Ella Mae Lundblom. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at 1:30 PM at Braden Cemetery, Coloma, Missouri. A family visitation will be held at 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri.
