Richard "Dick" Sidden

Richard "Dick" Sidden, 78, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away Sunday evening, June 27, 2010 at North Kansas City Hospital. Dick was born on November 24, 1931 in Ludlow, Missouri to Charles and Faye (Gilliland) Sidden, they both preceded him in death. He married Marilyn Leppin on August 11, 1968 in Chillicothe. She survives of the home. Dick was a life-long resident of Livingston County and was a graduate of Mooresville High School and Chillicothe Business College. He was the parts manager at Cooke Sales and Service in Chillicothe where he worked for fifty years before retiring. Dick was a member of the First Christian Church in Chillicothe for forty years and served as Elder Emeritus. He was also a member of Dawn Lodge #539, Chillicothe Chapter #113 of the Eastern Star and RSVP where he supported Operation Help Dick enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his four grandchildren. He also enjoyed restoring antique furniture, tractors, and cars. Dick was always known to have a story to tell and always had a smile to share. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; a daughter Lori Sallee and her husband David of Four Seasons, Missouri; a son John Sidden and wife Angie of Liberty, Missouri; three grandsons, Mitchell Sidden, Davis Sallee, and Carter Sidden; a granddaughter Claire Sallee; four sisters, Marguerite Smith of Jefferson City, Missouri, Marilyn Cox and her husband Jewell of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Beverly McDonnal and husband Melvin of Kearney, Missouri, and Pat Fifer and husband Dave of Brookfield, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri at 1:00 p.m. There will be a family visitation on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may call the funeral home on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the Bethel Cemetery in Ludlow, Missouri. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Bethel Cemetery Association and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
