Richard Alan "Joe" Roth Richard Alan "Joe" Roth, age 70, a resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at his residence, from a short, but intense battle with cancer. Joe was born the son of Raymond J. and Fay (Yokum) Roth on July 7, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri. Joe grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, graduating from Westport High School, and later moved with his family to Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Shortly afterward, Joe was drafted into the United States Army, and was assigned to the First Infantry Division - as part of the "Big Red One". Joe proudly served his Tour of Duty in Vietnam. When Joe finished his military service, he made his home in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where he met and married someone very special to him, Arlene Fae Myers. To this union was born Susan Gail, and Marsha Kay Roth. After having spent the first several years of their married life in Wyoming, they returned to Missouri to settle in Lawson, Missouri. During this time, Richard Alan Joey was born. His wife, Arlene fought her own cancer battle and lost in 1995. At this time, Joe found a farm in Braymer, Missouri, and moved his family to raise as a single parent to 3 elementary age children. Joe has always enjoyed the simple country life working with the land, animals, and farm machinery. Survivors include his children, Susan Fields and husband Bobby of Parkville, Missouri, Marsha Dunwoodie and husband Zach of Braymer, Missouri, and Joey Roth of Braymer, Missouri; five grandchildren, Caden and Jillian Fields, Jazzmin Kelly, Chance, and Tynlee Dunwoodie; siblings, Raymond Roth II of Kansas City, Missouri, Mary Roth of Montana, Margie Roth of Kansas City, Missouri, and Roger Roth and wife Charlotte of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; and his longtime friend of 50 years, Ed Wright of Weston, Missouri. Joe was a very caring, loved, and loving brother, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Burial will be held at Lawson Cemetery, Lawson, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
