Richard "Rick" John O'Halloran, age 73, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.
Rick was born the son of Richard Joseph and Elizabeth (Wirtz) O'Halloran on October 3, 1948, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a 1967 graduate of St. Joseph's Academy, Chillicothe. He then attended Northwest Missouri State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1971. Rick was also a Certified Public Accountant. He was united in marriage to Brenda Anderson on August 20, 1971, at St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. Rick worked as the finance director at Chillicothe Municipal Utilities for 25 years, until his retirement in 2016. He was a devout student of the Catholic faith, and was a member of St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd degree. Rick was a skilled amateur landscaper and arborist and was a Purple Martin landlord for many years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and scooters.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda O'Halloran of the home; one son, Ryan O'Halloran and wife Carrie of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; one daughter, Abby Schieber and husband Greg of Topeka, Kansas; six grandchildren, Heidi, Kinsey, Oliver, Andy, Eli, and Bryn; five brothers, Robert O'Halloran and wife Marilyn of Leawood, Kansas, Timothy O'Halloran of Mission, Kansas, Michael O'Halloran of Chicago, Illinois, Dennis O'Halloran of Mission, Kansas, and Don O'Halloran of Loganville, Georgia; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clithro and Grace Anderson of Chillicothe, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Stephen O'Halloran; and one sister, Patricia O'Halloran.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, November 22, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. A Parish Rosary will be held prior to the Mass at 10:30 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, November 21, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held at St. Columban Catholic Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
