Richard Carl Oldakowski Richard Carl Oldakowski, age 94, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital, Columbia, Missouri. Richard was born the son of John Fedor and Louise (Dede) Oldakowski on February 16, 1920, in Festus, Missouri. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He served as a tail gunner and navigator, earning a Purple Heart, Silver Star, the Air Medal and a Distinguished Service Cross. He was united in marriage to Bonna Seifert on June 2, 1966, in Colorado Springs Colorado. She survives of the home. Richard worked as a self-employed Bicycle Mechanic for many years. He enjoyed riding and repairing bicycles, and flying. He loved wolves, bears, and other wildlife. He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows. Survivors include his wife, Bonna of the home; three sons, Richard John Oldakowski of Farmersville, Virginia, David Oldakowski of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Mark Oldakowski of Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and nephew, Rudolf Rex Hussmann of Rome, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Vera and Esther; and one brother, Ellis Oldakowski. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, October 13, 2014, from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri, on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Forest O.
