Richard C. Myers
Richard C. Myers, age 86, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021, at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence, Missouri.
Richard was born the son of Arthur and Edra (Shore) Myers on April 16, 1935, in Meadville, Missouri. He was a 1953 graduate of Meadville High School. He was united in marriage to Carole Koehly on May 12, 1956, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. Richard worked as a Lineman for Farmers Electric for 39 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and Troop 120 Boy Scouts of America. Richard started the Holiday Greenery Fundraiser for Knights of Columbus, which benefited Peter Pan School. He enjoyed fly fishing in Bennett Springs, Missouri, woodworking, spending hours on end working on puzzles, camping and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Carole Myers of the home; two sons, Craig Myers of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Michael Myers of Plantersville, Texas; one daughter, Gena Ahlers and husband Steve of Jefferson City, Missouri; four grandchildren, Carole Myers of Juno, Alaska, Ashley Pacheceo of Chillicothe, Missouri, Koehly (Ahlers) Spencer and husband Skyler of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Conner Ahlers of Jefferson City, Missouri; five great grandchildren, Kennedy Spencer and Beckett Spencer of Jefferson City, Missouri, Emmerson Myers, Jewel Daugherty, and Knox Calvin of Chillicothe, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, James, Jack, and Blair Myers; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edwin and Georgena Koehly.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, December 3, 2021, one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, December 2, 2021, from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
