Richard Lee Garr Richard Lee Garr, age 84, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Richard was born the son of Lilbert and Mandy (Griner) Garr on December 29, 1927, in Lock Springs, Missouri. He was a 1945 graduate of Lock Springs High School, and attended Chillicothe Business College. He was united in marriage to Doris K. Kendrick, on October 6 ______ in _____________. She preceded him in death on October 26, 1991. He was then united in marriage to Thelma Sizemore on May 16, 1992, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. Richard worked as a bookkeeper for Anderson TBA for over 46 years. He served in the United States Army in Japan during World War II. Richard was involved in the First Baptist Church in Chillicothe, and most recently was a member of the Church of Christ in Chillicothe. He served as a board member at Morningside Center, was a member of the Kiwanis, served as a councilman at large, was a 2nd ward city councilman, and was also in charge of all of the alumni gatherings for Lock Springs. Survivors include his wife, Thelma of the home; one son, Stefan Garr of Tucson, Arizona; two daughters, Lori Mac Donald and husband Kevin of Marion, Arkansas, and Lesa Gieringer and husband Charles of Salisbury, Missouri; five step-children, Julia Dickson, Rick Sizemore, John Sizemore, Becky Woody, and Kevin Sizemore; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Doris; two grandsons, Michael Long and Kyle O'Brien; and three step-sisters, Zella, Della, and Goldie. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, November 12, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, November 12, 2012, from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
