Richard "Dick" Dean Buss Richard "Dick" Dean Buss, age 84, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Dick was born the son of Wert and Gertrude (Peterson) Buss on May 29, 1934, in Maquoketa, Iowa. He served in the United States Army for 27 years. He was united in marriage to Joanne Trego on June 15, 1957, in DeWitt, Iowa. She survives of the home. Dick worked as a self-employed contractor for many years. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Chillicothe, Missouri. Dick served as past exalted ruler for Elks Lodge 322 in 1984. He was also a member of the VFW Post #1679 of Ventura, California. Dick enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, camping, fishing, and building musical instruments. He sang in a barbershop quartet. Survivors include his wife, Joanne, of the home; two sons, Tyler Martin Buss of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Todd Michael Buss and wife Shannon of Chillicothe, Missouri; six grandchildren, Katie Gentile, Ricki Faye Buss, Kayden Strand, Gracie Strand, Tara Buss, and Kathryn Buss; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters. Memorial services will be held at the Church of Christ, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, July 20, 2018, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri.
