Richard Harold Curnow II, age 66, a resident of Breckenridge, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Veteran's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Richard was born the son of Richard Harold and Ruth Irene (Swaithes) Curnow Ford Geier on April 4, 1945 in Chillicothe, Missouri. He graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1962 and attended Central Missouri State University of Warrensburg, Missouri for two years. He worked as a farmer as well as a truck driver all of his life. He was also a substitute Breckenridge rural mail carrier. Richard served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1967 until 1969. He attended the Breckenridge United Methodist Church. He is survived by one son, Richard H. Curnow and wife Karri of Breckenridge, Missouri; one sister, Carolyn Courtney of Overland Park, Kansas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kelly Curnow; and two step fathers, John Ford and Leonard Geier. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at the Pitts Funeral Home, Breckenridge, Missouri. There will be no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Pitts Funeral Home, Breckenridge, Missouri, on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. There will be a private family interment at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richard H. Curnow II Memorial Fund and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to Pitts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601. Arrangements are under the direction of Pitts Funeral Home, Breckenridge, Missouri.
