Richard Sidney Abbey

Richard Sidney Abbey Richard (Rik) Sidney Abbey, age 66, a resident of Ludlow, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2016, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Richard was born the son of Donald Sidney and Bennie (Matthews) Abbey on March 1, 1949, in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated from University of Mississippi in 1972. He was united in marriage to Janet Wolcott on August 12, 1984, Ludlow, Missouri. She survives of the home. Richard worked as a computer programmer for Continental Disc in Liberty, Missouri, for many years until his retirement. He was a great cook and loved to barbeque. He also loved Ole Miss. Richard was a member of the Ludlow Lions Club. Survivors include his wife, Janet of the home; one son, Donald Abbey of St. Charles, Missouri; two stepsons, Kevin Thompson of Grain Valley, Missouri, and Cade Thompson of St. Joseph, Missouri; seven grandchildren; and two brothers, William Abbey of Gulf Port, Mississippi, and Robert Abbey of Moon Lake, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, John and Clastine Wolcott; and one brother-in-law, Randy Wolcott. Cremation was held.
