Retta Jean Cranmer Retta Jean Cranmer, age 83, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Retta was born the daughter of Frederick and Vassie Ella (Bennett) Corbin on January 10, 1931, in Grundy County, Missouri. Retta was united in marriage to Troy Lee Cranmer on April 29, 1947, in Hiawatha, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 20, 1993. She worked as a Waitress for Frontier House and B and T Café for many years. Survivors include one son, Troy Cranmer and wife Jenetta of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter, Jeannie Ballantyne and husband Jerry of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Marilyn Cranmer of Chillicothe, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Lisa Johnson and husband Steve of Kansas City, Missouri, Roman Cranmer and wife Janilla of Chillicothe, Missouri, Stoney Cranmer of Jefferson City, Missouri, Amy Cranmer of Chillicothe, Missouri, Brooke LupPlace and husband Matt of Wheatland, Missouri, Whitney Cranmer of Fort Worth, Texas, Taylor Cranmer of Fate, Texas, Rebeka Gilliam and husband Reilly of Chula, Missouri, Kendra Ballantyne and Timmy Danner of Chula, Missouri, and Timber Ballantyne of Chillicothe, Missouri; eleven great grandchildren, Morgan, Jack, Libby, Cody, Gage, Quentin, Kayanna, Rhyder, Aubrie, Pepper, and Candice; and longtime friend, Louis Doss of Bosworth, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Troy; two sons, Rodney and Roger Cranmer; one brother, Neal Corbin; and three sisters, Geraldine McCown, Marie Sharp, and Marjorie Ralls. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
