Raymond Sowder

Raymond Lee Sowder Raymond Lee Sowder, age 84, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012 at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Raymond was born the son of Everett Sowder and Ruby Darr on December 8, 1927 in Harris, Missouri. He was a 1946 Chillicothe High School Graduate. Raymond was a boiler operator at Chillicothe Municipal Utilities, a leather cutter for Lambert Glove, and retired from Hy-Vee. On September 22, 1962 he was united in marriage to Nina June Billups in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. He is survived by his wife, June Sowder of the home; four daughters, Kathy Lou Brockmeier and husband Dick of Denver, Colorado, Pat Smith of Chula, Missouri, Connie Jones and husband Bill of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Judy Fairchild and husband David of Hamilton, Missouri; two brothers Freddie Sowder of Marshall, Missouri, and Robert Keith Sowder of San Antonio, Texas; nine grandchildren, Gabe Jones of Chillicothe, Missouri, Amy Kelsey of Agency, Missouri, Billy Smith of Kansas City, Missouri, Abby Smith of Chillicothe, Missouri, Wally Fairchild of Atlanta, Georgia, Sully Fairchild, of Olathe, Kansas, Sam Fairchild of Columbia, Missouri, Andrew Brockmeier of Colorado, and Haley Brockmeier of California, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Kevin Sharp, and one son-in-law, Bob Smith. Services will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 12 noon at the Calvary Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. There will be a family visitation on Wednesday, August 8, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
