Raymond Eugene Adams, Sr.
Raymond Eugene Adams, Sr., age 85, a resident of Dawn, Missouri, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019, at his residence.
Raymond was born the son of Frank and Gertrude (Wilson) Adams on September 2, 1933, in Breckenridge, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Alice Susan Burnett on September 12, 1952. She preceded him in death on June 2, 1987. Raymond was then united in marriage to Elaine Doll on October 3, 1996. She preceded him in death on October 30, 2010. He worked as a mechanic for 10 years. Raymond also worked as a bus driver for the Cameron School District for many years. He attended the Amazing Grace Church, Trenton, Missouri.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond "Pete" Adams and wife Candace "Candy" of Adrian, Michigan, and Lyle Adams of Bethany, Missouri; one daughter, Linda Penrod and husband Michael of Apache Junction, Arizona; twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one brother, Buck Adams of Missouri; and one sister, Pat Tipit and husband Charles of Denver, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice; wife, Elaine; one daughter, Virginia Sutton; two sons, L. David Adams, and David Adams; two sisters, Lois Howell and Katie Minnis; and four brothers, Donald, Bob, Maynard, and Russell "Toad" Adams.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Mirabile Cemetery, Caldwell County, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Home Care and Hospice and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
