Randy Dean Canaan, age 69, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020, at his residence.
Randy was born the son of Billy Jean and Doris Mae (Travis) Canaan on July 19, 1951, in Unionville, Missouri. He grew up in Gardner, Kansas, and graduated from Gardner High School in 1970. Randy was united in marriage to Jewell Riddle on July 26, 2014, in Overland Park, Kansas. She survives of the home. After high school, he worked at Allison Manufacturing as a welder. He later worked in sales of Welding Supplies with Burnidge Oxygen, Praxair, and Airgas. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 40 of De Soto, Kansas, for 29 years.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell Canaan of the home; son, Randy Canaan and Jennifer of De Soto, Kansas; stepson, Scott Riddle of the home; siblings, Roger Canaan and wife Alice of Linn Valley, Kansas, Ron Canaan and wife Deb of Paola, Kansas, Billie Kaye Damet and husband Mark of Edgerton, Kansas, Marvin Canaan of Lansing, Kansas, Peggy Canaan of Kansas City, Missouri; sister-in-law, Gayle Canaan of Kansas City, Missouri; and first wife, Leila Canaan (mother of Randy and Travis) of Osawatomie, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Travis; sister, Mary Canaan; and brother, Richard Canaan.
The family would like to give many thanks to the KU Cancer Center in Westwood, Kansas, and KU Hospital.
Cremation was held. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
