Raimen Ford Rice, age 87, a resident of Cameron, Missouri, a former resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, Kansas City, Missouri, and Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at the Missouri State Veterans Home, Cameron, Missouri.
Raimen was born the son of Otto Raymond and Gladys N. (Ford) Rice on August 27, 1931, in Braymer, Missouri. He was a 1949 graduate of Braymer High School. A Korean War Veteran, he served in the United States Marine Corps from 1951 until 1954, and was a Drill Instructor in San Diego, California. Raimen was united in marriage to Virginia Lea Hiskett on November 6, 1953, in Braymer, Missouri. He worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Kansas City, Missouri, from 1955 until 1975. He also worked in wood furnace sales, and owned/operated his own small engine repair shop. He attended the United Methodist Church. Raimen was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. With Virginia, he founded the Shoal Creek Critters Square Dance Club, and enjoyed being a square dance caller. He also enjoyed being a HAM Radio Operator.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia; three sons, Michael Raimen Rice of Chillicothe, Missouri, Jon Kevin Rice (Janet) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Keith Alan Rice (Tina) of Cameron, Missouri; four grandchildren, Misty Dawn Vaughn, Jessica Danyelle Trammell, Preston Jon Michael Rice, and David William Rice; seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Ramona McBee.
A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri, on Friday, April 26, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Forest O.
