Priscilla L. Moss

Priscilla L. Moss, age 81, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on February 13, 2012 at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Priscilla was born the daughter of Charly Ray and Ruth Melissa (Burns) Bethards on October 16, 1930 in Ashton, Idaho. She moved to Chillicothe, Missouri from Ashton, Idaho in 1932. She graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1948. She was united in marriage to Tom Briggs Moss on March 24, 1950 in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 29, 2002. She worked as a Dietary Supervisor at Morningside Center from 1982 until 1996. She is a member of the Mount Olive United Methodist Church of Chillicothe, Missouri, the United Methodist Women's Mount Olive United Methodist Church, and a former Sampsel Township clerk. She is survived by five sons, David Moss and wife Deborah of Chillicothe, Missouri, Dennis Moss and long-time friend Kathi Lake of Chillicothe, Darrell Moss and wife Brenda of Wheeling, Missouri, Richard Moss and wife Sylvia of Gardner, Kansas, Mark Moss and wife Jenny of Chillicothe, Missouri; four daughters, Marcia Moss of Wymore, Nebraska, Sondra Crowder of Omaha, Nebraska, Anita Jacobs and husband Howard of Meadville, Missouri, Mary Beth Pepper and husband Mike of Columbia, Missouri; one brother, Hugh Bethards of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; two sisters, Hazel Henderson of Bosworth, Missouri, and Ramona McDonald and husband Charles of Mobile, Alabama; twenty grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom; a daughter, Carol Ann Spencer on August 16, 1998; two brothers, Ray Bethards and Larry Cooper; and one grandchild, Katie Spencer. Services will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. There will be a family visitation on Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home on Saturday from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Mount Olive Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
