Phyllis Darlene Capps
Phyllis Darlene (Willard) Capps, age 89, a resident of Laredo, Missouri, passed away peacefully at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri, due to COVID complications on Sunday, September 19, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
Phyllis was born the daughter of Roy and Cora (Clark) Willard on September 15, 1932, in Chillicothe, Missouri.
Phyllis was a wonderful loving family person who enjoyed living on the farm. She enjoyed sewing, and many different kinds of puzzles. On June 20, 1980, Phyllis married her high school sweetheart, Donald Forest Capps in Carson City, Nevada, and he survives of the home. Phyllis was extremely proud of her four children, step children, and their children. There was not a day that she was not talking about how much she loved all her family. She spent many years on their farm in Laredo after retiring from living in Arbuckle, California. Phyllis was of the Baptist faith, she was a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church, where she was baptized at the age of nine and continued her fellowship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Donald F. Capps of the home; two daughters, Patricia Schwager (Ronald), and Paula Scott (Davey) both of Chillicothe, Missouri; one son, Steve Rader of Chillicothe, Missouri; stepdaughters, Lou White (Joe) of Alburn, California, Donna Atkins (Dick) of Casa Grande, Arizona, and Candy Mason (Michael) of Cheyenne, Wyoming; stepson, Donald F. Capps, II of Gainesville, Florida; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Pamela Thomas; one granddaughter, Katie Scott; one great-great granddaughter, Annalynn Arbogast; one sister, Geneva Grimes; four brothers, Floyd, Leroy, Homer, and George Willard; and stepson, Dale Capps.
A private family funeral service will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, September 24, 2021. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m. A graveside committal service held at Plainview Cemetery, Chula, Missouri, on Friday, September 24, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alpha Baptist Church and/or Plainview Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
