Phillip D. Reeter age 77, of Prairie City, Iowa passed away Friday, August 6th, 2011 surround by family at Bright Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa. The son of George and Nellie (Eckert) Reeter, Phillip Delano Reeter was born on September 6, 1933 in Livingston County, Missouri. Phil was a graduate of Trenton High School in Trenton, MO. Upon his graduation he attended the University of Missouri where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agronomy. On April 9, 1956 Phil was united in marriage with Janet Barger in Marshall, MO. Phil proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army and National Guard and was honorably discharged as a Captain of his unit. Phil and Janet made their home in Prairie City, IA where Phil owned and operated Reeter Supply. He was a well known agriculture business leader in the state and the feed and grain equipment industry throughout the Midwest. Phil was a very involved Prairie City resident. He was a Prairie City Councilman, and a member of the Prairie City Business Association and the Prairie City E.D.C. Phil was a past president of the Iowa Feed and Grain Association and a board member of the National Feed and Grain Association. Phil loved to work, but he also enjoyed boating, vacationing at the Lake of the Ozarks, and socializing with friends. Those left to honor Phil's memory are his wife, Janet Reeter of Prairie City, IA; four children, David Reeter of Grandview, MO; Chris Reeter of Boonville, MO; Linda Reeter of Grandview, MO; and Scott Reeter of Boonville, MO; mother, Nellie Reeter of Chillicothe, MO; three grandchildren, Melynda Reeter (John Hanson), Lindsay Reeter, and Sarah Reeter; one great-granddaughter, Zoe Hanson; three siblings, Don (Nora) Reeter of Laredo, MO; Susan (Gene) Linhardt of Independence, MO; and Robert (Sharon) Reeter of Chula, MO. Phil was preceded in death by his father, George Reeter. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home of Chillicothe, Missouri. Visitation will be held prior to services from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services are scheduled to be held at Hazel Grove Cemetery, in Herndon, Missouri on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall, Missouri on Friday August 12, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Brassfield Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
