Phil D. Scott
Phil D. Scott, age 72, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Livingston Manor, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Phil was born the son of Jim and Clara (Long) Scott on July 14, 1948, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a 1966 graduate of Chillicothe High School. Phil was united in marriage to Patricia "Pat" Jones on September 28, 1968, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home.
Phil and his wife returned to Chillicothe in 2002. Prior to moving back to Chillicothe, they lived in Kirksville, Green City, Milan, and Brookfield. Phil served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1972. He worked at the Producers Creamery, Chillicothe, Missouri before working at the Missouri Department of Transportation for 32 years. During that time, he held several positions and retired as a District Liaison. After he retired, he worked at Shaffer, Kline, and Warren, Chillicothe, Missouri, as an Inspector. Phil was a Deacon and member of the First Baptist Church, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a member of the Grand River Duck's Unlimited and the National Rifle Association. He was also a lifetime member of the Vern Glick American Legion Post #25 and the VFW Roy L. Burkett Post #858.
Survivors include his wife, Pat, of Chillicothe, Missouri; mother-in- law, Phyllis Peniston of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter, Debbie Ball of Chillicothe, Missouri; one son, Jamie Scott and wife, Amber of Chillicothe, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kingston Ball of Chillicothe, Missouri, Carter, Chloe, and Owen Scott of Chillicothe, Missouri; two brothers, Dwight Scott of Chillicothe, Missouri, Davey Scott and wife, Paula of Chillicothe, Missouri; one sister, Carol Scott of Shawnee Mission, Kansas; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Scott and Ann Scott; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Sherry Scott, Raye Spaw, and Kaye Lewis; three brothers, Doug Scott, Danny Scott, and Alan Scott; one niece, Katie Scott; one nephew, Jimmy Spaw; and one great nephew, Riley Minnis.
Graveside services will be held at May Cemetery, Chula, Missouri, on Monday, November 30, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, November 29, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., and on Monday, November 30, 2020, from 8:00 a.m. until 12 noon.
