Paula J. Anschutz, age 83, a resident of Dover, Missouri, a former resident of the Coloma and Chillicothe area, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Meyer Care Center, Higginsville, Missouri.
Paula was born the daughter of Paul and Clara (Templeton) Broska on October 29, 1938, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a 1956 graduate of Lucas, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Robert Anschutz on November 12, 1954, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2017. Paula attended Chillicothe Beauty Academy in 1980. She owned and operated Young Modern Beauty Shop in Chillicothe for 20 years. She also worked in the Hy-Vee Bakery, and as a cook for Livingston Manor Care Center, and Tina-Avalon School. She served as a 4-H Leader, as president of Tina-Avalon PTA, and the Braden HEO Club. Family was always the most important thing in her life, especially her grandchildren. Paula rarely missed a grandchild's event, whether it be sports, music programs, 4-H events, or the numerous other things the grandchildren participated in. She was a fantastic cook. Paula was also an accomplished cake decorator doing cakes for any occasion for family and friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Melanie Rosin and husband Marty of Dover, Missouri, and Mona Smith of Hutto, Texas; one son, Merl Anschutz of Corder, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jeramiah Gandhi and Tomei Peppard of Warrensburg, Missouri, Penny Butler and Josh Hedrick of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Spencer Smith and wife Brianne of Hutto, Texas; eight great grandchildren, Tika Castilleja and Adam, Will Gandhi, Trenton Gandhi, Brooklyn Hedrick, Brayden Hedrick, Gavin Wardrip, Lilly Smith, and Canyon Smith; three great-great grandchildren, Aliyah Gandhi, Dorian Castilleja, and Serenity Gandhi. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; one son, Mike Anschutz; and one grandson, Scott Smith.
Graveside services will be held at Braden Cemetery, Coloma, Missouri, on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 2:30 p.m.  A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, November 6, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, November 5, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Braden Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
