Paul Joseph Pfaff
He ran the race, and he fought the fight. But, in the end Cancer won.
Rural Trenton resident, Paul Joseph Pfaff, passed away early in the morning on May 14, 2021.
Mr. Pfaff, 78 years old, was the son of Paul B Pfaff and Tena Taylor Pfaff. He was born at the hospital in Chillicothe, Missouri on January 17, 1943. Paul was the oldest brother to Jim, Tom, and Margaret Pfaff Teagarden.
Paul attended various country schools until he attended high school at Trenton R-9. He graduated from high school in 1961. After high school, Paul farmed and worked various jobs around the area and even traveled the country to do dirt work for tracks for the Monster Trucks to perform on.  During the Vietnam Era, Paul enlisted in the Air Force. Once he made his commitment to the Air Force, Paul joined the Air Force National Guard. From there Paul joined the Army Reserves, and then he joined the Army National Guard at the Trenton, Missouri unit. Combined together Paul served 30 years.
On June 9, 1974, Paul married Barbara Campbell. They lived their entire marriage in the Trenton and rural Trenton areas. Paul owned and operated Pfaff Bulldozing for many years. Many of Paul's customers became family friends. Paul retired in late 2020 due to health problems.
Together, Paul and Barbara raised three children together, Michele (Shelley) Malone, Christy Campbell, and Michael Campbell.
Paul was very devoted to his church, Saint Columban Catholic Church in Chillicothe, Missouri. It was very difficult for him to stop attending due to failing health. Paul was under Hospice Care.
Survivors include his wife Barbara of the home; daughter, Michele Malone and Husband Ronnie, daughter, Christy Campbell, and son, Michael Campbell. Grandchildren include Jamel, Zakary, Andrew, Anthony, Christa "CJ", Elizabeth, and Keelin. Great grandchildren include, Taylor, Rae Lynn, Marley, Zayda, and Maci; and family Friend, Ruben, and Paul's faithful companion Kramer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. A Parish Rosary will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. with visitation to follow. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at St. Columban Catholic Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Hospice and/or Green Hills Animal Shelter and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601. Online condolences may be made at www.lindleyfuneralhomes.com . The family would appreciate the observance of social distancing and wearing of masks at the service.
