Orvis "Duane" Nichols Orvis "Duane" Nichols, age 84, a resident of Browning, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. Duane was born the son of Clarence and Lottie (Rottmann) Nichols on September 26, 1928, in Haseville, Missouri. He was a 1945 graduate of Meadville R-4 School. He served as a Corporal in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Betty Lou Sturtevant on December 24, 1950, in Laclede, Missouri. She survives of the home. He worked as a farmer his whole life. Duane was a member of the United Methodist Church, Haseville, Missouri, and the Browning VFW Post. Survivors include his wife Betty Lou of the home; two daughters, Janice Ontiveros of Sachse, Texas, and Linda Dennis and husband Bob of Humphreys, Missouri; three grandchildren, David Ontiveros and wife Catherine, Derick Dennis, and Dylan Dennis; and three great grandchildren, Ally Ontiveros, John Ontiveros, and Nicholas Ontiveros. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at the Haseville United Methodist Church, Haseville, Missouri, on Sunday, May 26, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Haseville United Methodist Church, Haseville, Missouri, on Sunday, May 26, 2013, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Laredo, Missouri, on Saturday, May 25, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Haseville Cemetery, Haseville, Missouri.
