Norman L. Gregg
Norman L. Gregg, age 83, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at St. Luke's North Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.
Norman was born the son of Gilbert and Pearl Virginia (Wiedmier) Gregg on December 19, 1936, in Braymer, Missouri. He was a 1954 graduate of Braymer High School. He was united in marriage to Dolly Mae Terry on September 6, 1954, in Cowgill, Missouri. She survives of the home. He was in his mid-20's when he enrolled in Moler Barber School in Kansas City. After completing barber school, Norman returned to Braymer, Missouri, to cut hair. Norman then returned to Chillicothe, Missouri, and barbered at Pony's Barber Shop. Norman and Dolly owned and operated P&S Bowling Alley and Lounge in Braymer, Missouri, where he also cut hair, from 1980 until 1988. Norman and Dolly then made their home back in Chillicothe, Missouri, where he owned and operated King's Den Barber Shop in Chillicothe, Missouri. Norman retired in September 2019, after 56 years of barbering. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. Norman was also a member of the Chillicothe Friendship Masonic Lodge #89 AF & AM.
Survivors include his wife, Dolly Gregg of the home; two sons, "Mel" Melvin Lloyd Gregg and wife Carol of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Marvin Lynn Gregg and friend Lyn Mitchell of Centerview, Missouri; three grandchildren, Ashley Gregg of Orlando, Florida, Cory Gregg and wife Anne of Wardsville, Missouri, Lindsay Gregg-Enyeart and husband Jake of Lawson, Missouri; and four great grandchildren, Logan and Avery Gregg and Adalei and Ember Enyeart. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister Naomi Lee.
A Masonic service will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, February 7, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, February 7, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. with visitation to follow.
