Norman Russell Burns Norman Russell Burns, age 75, a resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, Missouri. Norman was born the son of Russell Lyle and Helen Colleen (Keller) Burns on July 10, 1940, in Braymer, Missouri. Norman was a 1959 graduate of Stet High School. He was united in marriage to Martha Rose on February 4, 1962, in Mandeville, Missouri. She survives of the home. Norman worked as a farmer and also worked for Braymer Consumer Oil and Supply. He was a member of the Braymer Baptist Church, Braymer, Missouri. He was also a member of the Braymer Fox Club. Norman served as treasurer of the Braymer Rural Fire department in Braymer, Missouri. Norman had a pure enjoyment of the outdoors; hunting, fishing and camping. He relished in sharing his outdoor adventures. He also shared this love with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was very passionate about gardening and was well known for his tomatoes and sweet corn. Norman was always there to help a friend or neighbor whether it be sharing his bounty of garden produce, cutting wood for them, or just being there as a friend to visit. He treasured his work in his wood working shop and made several toys and benches for his loved ones. Norman loved Martha Kay for 53 years, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren very dearly, and when he spoke of them, his love of them radiated for others to see. He will be remembered and missed by all that knew him. Survivors include wife, Martha of the home; two daughters, Suzann Clevenger and husband Bobby of Braymer, Missouri, and Nancy Maasdam and husband David of Tina, Missouri; two sons, Russell (Rusty) Burns and wife Heather of Bosworth, Missouri, and Scott Burns of Braymer, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Ryan Clevenger and wife Jamie of Braymer, Missouri, Amanda Clevenger and fiancé Brandon Sneed of Braymer, Missouri, Steve Clevenger of Braymer, Missouri, Stephanie Jones and husband Cohlby of Carrollton, Missouri, Brittany Horine and husband Brandon of Rayville, Missouri, Emily Maasdam of Tina, Missouri, Emma Burns of Bosworth, Missouri, and Kaitlyn Burns of Bosworth, Missouri; six great grandchildren, Connor and Carson Clevenger and Kacie Clevenger all of Braymer, Missouri, Addi and Zyler Jones of Carrollton, Missouri, and Kiah Potts of Tina, Missouri; one brother, Kenneth Burns of Stet, Missouri; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at the Braymer Baptist Church, Braymer, Missouri, on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Braymer Baptist Church, Braymer, Missouri, on Saturday, November 21, 2015, one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Friday, November 20, 2015, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Norman Russell Burns Memorial Fund and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
