Norma Lee Vorbeck

Norma Lee Vorbeck Norma Lee Vorbeck, age 86, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Missouri. Norma was born the daughter of Harry L. and Pearl Louise (Jacobs) Salisbury on September 7, 1929, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Gerald Richard Vorbeck on August 12, 1948, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1986. Norma was a lifelong resident of Livingston and Linn counties. She was a 1946 graduate of Meadville High School, Meadville, Missouri. Norma was a member of St. Columban's Catholic Church and St. Ann's Altar Society. She worked as a door greeter at Wal-Mart for over ten years. She was also an aide for Bishop Hogan pre-school and the Peter Pan school. Norma also enjoyed babysitting, dog sitting, cat sitting, and providing elder care. Survivors include: four sons, Richard Vorbeck and wife Carol of Grain Valley, Missouri, Steven Vorbeck of Belton, Missouri, Michael Vorbeck of Houston, Texas, and Craig Vorbeck of Houston, Texas; daughter Cheryl Vorbeck of St. Joseph, Missouri; brother, Melvin Salisbury and wife Linda of Smithville, Missouri; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: her parents; two brothers, Albert Salisbury, and Earnest Salisbury; and sister, Gwendolyn Houx. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Columban's Catholic Church, Chillicothe on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. A Parish Rosary will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. with a visitation to follow. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe.
