Norma Ruth Bristow

Norma R. Bristow, age 91, a former resident of Tina, Missouri, passed away at Indian Hills Retirement Village in Chillicothe, Missouri on Monday, March 14, 2011. She was born on March 17, 1919, in Carroll County, Missouri, the daughter of Julius Calvin and Julia May (Bullock) Hubbell. On June 28, 1936, she was married to Tinsley Morris Bristow in Tina, Missouri. They spent most of their married life on farms east of Tina. He preceded her in death on January 21, 1996. Norma was a member of the United Church in Tina. She belonged to Royal Neighbors of America, the Go Getter's Senior Club, the Thursday Club, and also the Star Merry Makers Social Club. She spent most of her years with her pet "Buffy". Survivors include two children, daughter Joyce Ann Hoover and husband Gerald of Tina, Missouri, and son Terry M. Bristow and wife Pam of Tina, Missouri; six grandchildren, David Hoover and wife Melanie of Tina, Missouri, Mark Hoover and wife Melinda of Maryville, Missouri, Steven Hoover and wife Carissa of Liberty, Missouri, Sherry Copple and husband Roger of Hale, Missouri, Robert Bristow and wife Aimee of Fulton, Missouri, and Tina Jones and husband Gabe of Chillicothe, Missouri; ten great grandchildren, Cortnie Lynn Hoover of Tina, Shelbi Leian Hoover of Tina, Missouri, and Dalton Hoover of Tina, Missouri, Maycee Lane Hoover of Chillicothe, Missouri, Quincey Nacole and Jentry Copple of Hale, Missouri, Austin Clark and Trenton John Bristow of Fulton, Missouri, and Trey Allen and Gracyn Hoover of Maryville, Missouri, Harile and Hallie Jones of Chillicothe, Missouri, ; four step great grandchildren, Codie, Callie, Jesse, and Abbie Coldiron of Tina, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Tinsley; and one brother. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. There will be no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call on Wednesday after 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Rock Branch Cemetery, Tina, Missouri.
