Nora "Tabitha" Gilbert Nora "Tabitha" Gilbert, age 94, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at The Baptist Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Tabitha was born the daughter of Nathan Carroll and Margaret Alice (Elliott) Cobb on January 27, 1920, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was a 1937 graduate of Chillicothe High School. She was united in marriage to William C. Gilbert on April 17, 1940, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1997. Tabitha worked as Food Service Manager for Chillicothe High School, and as Head Cook at the Senior Center. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Chillicothe, Missouri. Tabitha was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She served as an RSVP volunteer for 27 years. Tabitha enjoyed cooking, gardening, spending time with her children and grandchildren, playing Country Western music and attending Blue Grass festivals and contests. Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Ann Potter and husband Gaylen of Chillicothe, Missouri; two grandchildren, Greg Potter and wife Terri of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Scott Potter and wife Tonya of Lamar, Missouri; six great grandchildren, Austin, Emma, Justin, Lacey, Emilee, and Dylan. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband "Bill"; one infant son, Billy Ray Gilbert; two sisters, Gladys Hamilton and Letha Sickler; and one brother, Richard Cobb. Funeral services will be held at the Church of Christ, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. A family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, April 25, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, April 25, 2014, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
