Nancy Lynn Elliott Nancy Lynn Elliott, age 57, of Mooresville, Missouri, died Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. Nancy was born on July 13, 1953, the daughter of Orvil and Bonnie (Williams) Mann in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was a Southwest High School 1971 graduate. She also earned her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Education at Missouri Western. She was a teacher and a grant writer for the Chillicothe R-II schools for over 25 years. On December 23, 1973, she married Terry L. Elliott in Mooresville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1980. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mooresville, Missouri. Nancy received many awards throughout her teaching career such as: the District Conservation Teacher of the Year, Disney Teacher of the Year, Water Quality Teacher of the Year from the Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Teacher of Excellence, Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year, and Missouri Federation of Teachers Teacher of the Year. She was also a member of the National Science Teachers Association, Missouri State Teachers Association, and was one of 20 teachers across the nation that was named to the USA today All-USA Teacher Team. She brought in over 4 million dollars of revenue for the school district through grants. Nancy's children and grandkids were most important to her. Nancy enjoyed playing with her grandkids, doing crafts, baking cakes for the kids parties, sewing, working in the yard and garden and helping others. She was a very giving person -always doing for and thinking of others. Her ambition was to help others whether family, friends, or even strangers. She is survived by her father, Orvil Mann of Mooresville, Missouri; one son, Bradley Elliott of Kearney, Missouri; one daughter, Kathy Siler and husband Blake of Riverside, Missouri; one brother, Mike Mann and wife Dorothy of Mooresville, Missouri; two sisters, Brenda Estabrook and Toi Swartz and husband Jeff both of Mooresville, Missouri; two grandchildren, Luci and Elliott Siler of Riverside, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her mother. Services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2011. Burial will be held in Mooresville Cemetery, Mooresville, Missouri.
