Mildred Lois Mayes

Mildred Lois Mayes Mildred Mayes, age 92, a resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Golden Age Nursing Home. Mildred was born the daughter of Wade and Ethel (Moss) Boxx on July 5, 1922, in Caldwell County, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Estel Mayes on October 21, 1938. He preceded her in death on December 15, 1991. Mildred had babysat many children in the Braymer area. Survivors include two daughters Mary Hughson and husband Bob of Braymer, Missouri, and Bonnie Heavelow of Kansas City, Missouri; one son Jim Mayes of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Estel Mayes; two sons, Mike and Donnie Mayes; two brothers Lester Boxx and B.P. Boxx; and one granddaughter Corina Heavelow. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at the home of daughter Mary Hughson, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Golden Age Nursing Home and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
