Mildred Sue Jones

Mildred Sue Jones Mildred Sue Jones passed away Friday, February 23, 2017 at Livingston Manor Care Center.   Sue was born on November 8, 1933 to Roy and Alice Byrd Shields.   She received her B.S. in Education from the University of Texas at El Paso and her M.A from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg.  She spent her entire working career at Chillicothe High School teaching freshman Social Studies.  She retired in 1990. She was an avid genealogist and loved working on her family history.  She also volunteered at the Livingston county Library answering correspondence about local family histories.  She was a member of the Olive Prindle Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Colonial Dames and the Dawn Community Church. She loved to travel, quilt, read and work on crossword puzzles.  Sue was preceded in death by her husband John N Jones and her parents.  Survivors include two children, Patty Cretors and husband Jeff of Surprise Arizona and Charles Jones of Wheelers Hill, Australia; two grandsons, Adam Jones and wife Katherine, Australia, Daniel Jones, Australia; sister, Doris Lewis and husband John, brother, Dale Shields and wife Cathy, Denver, Colorado; nieces, Shelley Martin and husband John, Annette Lowrey and husband Steve, Natalie Young and husband Jerry, and Terri Rasche and husband Randy; and many cousins. There will be no visitation and no scheduled service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Christisen Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
