Mildred Ann Hicks Mildred Ann Hicks, age 80, a resident of Leawood, Kansas, former resident of Wheeling, Missouri, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017, at her residence. Mildred was born the daughter of William Harry and Viva Ann (Watson) Sanson on October 19, 1936, in Wheeling, Missouri. She was a 1954 graduate of Wheeling, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Lloyd E. Hicks on September 4, 1955, in Wheeling, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2014. Mildred worked for the Chillicothe R-2 School district at Dewey School in the cafeteria for many years. She also worked for the Springhill, Kansas school district in the cafeteria. She and her husband and family for many years made their home in Springhill, Kansas before retiring to the family farm in Wheeling, Missouri. She loved spending time with her family and caring for them when she was needed. She was a member of the Wheeling Baptist Church in Wheeling, Missouri. She was also a member of the Wheeling Extension Club. Survivors include her daughter, Tammy McElliott and Russ of Leawood, Kansas; two sons, Dennis Lloyd Hicks and Marce of Chillicothe, Missouri, and David William Hicks and Diane of Chillicothe, Missouri; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Sanson and wife Betty of Richmond, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd E. Hicks; daughter, Sally Jolene; three brothers, Charles Sanson, William Sanson Jr., Stanley Sanson. Funeral services will be held at Wheeling Baptist Church, Wheeling, Missouri, on Friday, July 28, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, July 27, 2017, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wheeling Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
