Mildred Nadine Clark

Mildred Nadine Clark, age 88, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, former resident of Utica, Missouri, passed away at Indian Hills Retirement Village, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, October 6, 2010. She was born the daughter of Webster and Gladys (Ford) McCully, on October 16, 1921, in Sullivan County, Missouri. On April 28, 1940, she married Delvern Clark in Trenton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 15, 2003. Mildred worked for the United States Postal Service, where she served as Post Master until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of the Community Baptist Church, Utica, Missouri, where she was an active member including teaching Sunday School and CLIAS. She was also a member of Hedrick Medical Center Auxiliary, and Eastern Star. She was an avid bowler; golfer and she sold poppies for the VFW. In 1941 she and her husband Mike opened Clarks General Store in Utica, Missouri. In 1962 they moved the store to Chillicothe now called Clark's Furniture. The most important things in Mildred's life were her faith and her family. Her legacy will live on through her son and grandchildren. She is survived by one son Butch Clark and wife Sue of Chillicothe, Missouri; one brother Richard McCully of Chillicothe, Missouri; one sister-in-law Eileen McCully of Chillicothe, Missouri; two grandchildren Camille Clark, Travis Clark and wife Brandi all of Chillicothe, Missouri; two step-grandchildren, Chad Hall of Liberty, Missouri and Cory Hall of Canyon, Texas; four great-grandchildren Caitlin Clark, Logan and Bianca Clark all of Chillicothe, Missouri and Connor Hall of Liberty, Missouri. She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Klova, Olin, Jay, Rex, and Burton McCully; two sisters Helena McCully and Mavis Hopkins. Funeral Services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, October 9, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. There will be a scheduled family visitation on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call after 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. on Friday and from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Utica Cemetery, Utica, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
