Michael Kent Snyder, age 72, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024 at his residence.
Mike was born the son of Paul and Marie (Stephens) Snyder on December 5, 1951 in Chillicothe, Missouri. Mike attended Tina-Avalon High School. On October 10, 1969, he married Betty Bennett, in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of the home.
Mike was employed by Reed’s Seeds until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, bowling and attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. He liked to eat the fish he caught, as well as his favorite brownies and Texas sheet cake. Mike liked to cook and he did it often, until he couldn’t any longer. He loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; two sons, Chad Snyder and wife Kim of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Jeremy Snyder and wife, Michelle of Blue Springs, Missouri; a daughter, Megan Burns and husband, Rob of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one brother, Gary Snyder of Springfield, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Diane Corbin.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Chillicothe and may be mailed to or left at Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri, 64601.
