Michael Patrick Daly, 27, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011. Visitation will be Thursday, February 10, from 5-8 p.m., at McGilley State Line Chapel, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Feb. 11, 10:00 a.m., at Church of the Ascension, 9510 West 127th St., Overland Park, KS, 66213. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Michael was born March 16, 1983, in Kansas City, Missouri, to John and Debra Daly. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, R. Patrick Daly, Sr., and Robert Charles Trager and his cousin Shawn Trager. He is survived by his parents, John and Debbie Daly; brother, Chris Daly; sisters, Anna, Megan and Liz Daly, all of Overland Park, KS; and his dog, Case; grandmothers, Bev Daly and Ruth Trager; aunts and uncles, Donna Bryan (Cliff) and daughter Jennifer Patterson, Bob Daly (Kelly) and their children, Patrick, Alex and Sam Daly, Steve Daly (Mary) and their children, Kate Orscheln and Tom Daly, Nancy Nugent (Mike) and their children Ryan, Adam, and Taylor Nugent, Maggie Lage (Paul) and their children Kristen and David Lage, Mike Trager and daughter Jenna, Matt (Cindi) Trager, sons Nate and Aaron, Chillicothe. Michael attended Oak Hill Elementary, Oxford Middle School and St. Thomas Aquinas High School, graduating in the class of 2001. After time at the University of Kansas he worked full-time at KAW Roofing and Sheet Metal as fourth generation while he attended business related classes at JCCC and graduated from Roofers Local #2 apprentice program. Michael was known by his family and friends for his easy-going, genuine fun-loving nature. Michael's determination and passion led him to many self- taught hobbies including snowboarding, wake boarding, and playing the guitar. He always looked forward to summers at the Lake with his family and friends that he loved so much. His love for his Irish heritage was undeniable leading him to travel around Europe with friends. Michael had just returned last week from snowboarding the Alps in Switzerland. Please keep Michael in your deepest thoughts and prayers.
