Melvon Verl Anderson Melvon Verl Anderson, age 83, a resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014, in Braymer, Missouri. Melvon was born on July 17, 1930 in Bogard, Missouri, the son of Virgil William and Ada Lee (Welker) Anderson. Melvon was a 1948 graduate of Braymer High School, Braymer, Missouri. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1961 and his Master's Degree in Education in 1972 from Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, Missouri. Melvon served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 until 1954. He was united in marriage to Ruby Ilene Caldwell on May 28, 1954 at the McBee Chapel, Braymer, Missouri. She survives the home. Three children were blessed to this union, Debra Luann, Brenda May, and Terry Lynn. Melvon had 31 years of experience in the education field; serving country schools Prairie, Highland, Shiloh, and Forbes before joining the South Holt Staff in Oregon, Missouri where he was principal for 21 years. In 1991 Melvon and Ruby retired to the family farm in Braymer, Missouri. He was a member of the Braymer United Methodist Church where he served as President of the Board for several years, Braymer Lions Club, American Legion, Eastern Star, Kiwanis, a 50 year member of Masons, Southern Holt Fire Protection District, Missouri Retired Teachers Association, and Missouri Principals Association. Melvon enjoyed fishing, playing cards, wood working and puzzles. He is survived by his wife Ruby Anderson of the home; children Brenda (Ralph) Kehr of Meadville, Missouri and Terry (Lynn) Anderson of Oregon, Missouri; son-in-law Stan Kee of Carrollton, Missouri, seven grandchildren, Cory (Kelly) Kee of Carrollton, Missouri, Stacy (Stephen) Kinstler of Kearney, Missouri, Randy (Kristen) Mendenhall of Oregon, Missouri, Heidi (Jesse) Smith of Carrollton, Missouri, Skyler (Jessica) Anderson of St. Joseph, Missouri, Shane (Jessica) Anderson of Oregon, Missouri, Scott (Nicole) Anderson of Savannah, Missouri; three step-grandchildren Tina (Brian) Wheeler of Parkville, Missouri, Tony (Beth Ann) Kehr of Shelby, Missouri, and Tim (Shawna) Kehr of Springfield, Missouri and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Ada Anderson; one daughter Debra Kee; son-in-law Thomas Mendenhall; and one brother R Lee Anderson. Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church, Braymer, Missouri, on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the United Methodist Church, Braymer, Missouri, on Thursday, July 17, 2014 one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at McBee Chapel Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri.
