Melvin David Coldiron Sr. Melvin David Coldiron Sr., age 79, a lifelong resident of Dawn, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe. Melvin was born the son of Ollie Otis and Della Grace (Smith) Coldiron in Mandeville, Missouri, in November 20, 1935. He was a 1953 graduate of Tina Avalon School, Tina Avalon, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Sherry Riddle on March 30, 1957, in Chillicothe. She preceded him in death on September 14, 2004. Melvin worked at Donaldson for more 20 years; he was also a farmer/rancher. Melvin worked for Tragers Construction, Irvin built construction, Adkison Wendall Construction where he was as a road builder and bridge builder. He was a member of the Enon Baptist Church, and a member of the Labor Union, and Carpenter Union of Kansas City, Missouri. Survivors include two sons Melvin David Coldiron Jr. of Dawn, Missouri, and Anthony Ray Coldiron and wife Twila of Dawn, Missouri; three daughters Corena Rose Coldiron Spencer and husband David of Dawn, Missouri, Joan Ann Coldiron Pointer and husband Paul of Marshall, Missouri, and Joyce Sue Coldiron of Bogard, Missouri; one brother Marvin Coldiron of Carrollton, Missouri; grandchildren Jared Sheets and wife Jasmine, Jayde Coldiron, Colton Coldiron, Dalton Coldiron, Mandy Spencer Green and husband Steven, Kyle Spencer, Levi Spencer and wife Rachel, Macy Spencer, Nash Spencer, Hailey Voorhies, Marti Coldiron and Kevin Boltin, Justin and Kara Heinzler, Jeremy and Chassity Pointer, Katie Boin and Dr. Michael Boin, Marisa Fritz and Luke Fritz; great-grandchildren, Brennen Green, Brooklynn Greene, Jazzie Spencer, Kylie Spencer, Cooper Spencer Tayden Spencer and Tyson Spencer, Xander Sheetz, London Heinzler, Libby Heinzler, and Landrie Heinzler, Brooklyne Pointer, Aiden Mullins, Ashylnne Pointer, and Nathan Pointer. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Sherry; and three brothers Gerald Lee, Melton Dale, and Delbert Merle Coldiron. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, June 26, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. There will be a family visitation on Thursday, June 25, 2015, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, on Thursday, June 25, 2015, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Blue Mound Cemetery, Dawn, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Mound Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
