Melinda "Sue" (DuBois) Laprade Melinda "Sue" (DuBois) Laprade, age 67, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at her residence surrounded by her family. Sue was born the daughter of Melvin R. and Elsie (Branum) DuBois on December 6, 1949, in Leavenworth, Kansas. She was a 1968 graduate of Leavenworth High School. She was united in marriage to George J. Laprade on May 26, 1972, in Leavenworth, Kansas. They were married for 44 years and he survives of the home. Sue worked as a bank teller. She worked for Chillicothe State Bank for many years. She was the Head Teller at Bank Midwest, Chillicothe, Missouri. She also worked for Bacon Sales and Service, Chillicothe, Missouri. While overseas, she was employed by Willi Geck Crystal Company in Wiesbaden, Germany. Sue was a member of the Saint Columban's Catholic Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Vern R. Glick Post 25 Ladies Auxiliary. Sue was a lifetime member of the Roy L. Burkett VFW Post 858 Ladies Auxiliary where she was the Vice President. Survivors include her mother, Elsie (Branum) DuBois, of Leavenworth, Kansas; her husband, George J. Laprade, of Chillicothe, Missouri; three children, Dale R. Bohannon II and companion, Cindy Frost, of Leavenworth, Kansas; and Scott M. Laprade and Elizabeth, of Woodstock, Georgia; and Heather H. Chapman, of Chillicothe, Missouri; six grandchildren, Brooklyn and Carly of Leavenworth, Kansas; Lafe and Hayden Chapman, of Chillicothe, Missouri; Emma and Kieran Laprade of Woodstock, Georgia; one sister, Lena Bohannon and husband Carroll, of Leavenworth, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin R. DuBois. Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, April 13, at 10:00 am. A parish Rosary will be held Wednesday, April 12, at 6:00 pm at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, with a family visitation to follow. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, April 12, from 12 noon to 8:00pm. Burial will be held at the Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri.
